Description
The Leadership Development Committee (LDC) supports the needs of the ACOFP leadership and evaluates candidates for the Board of Governors. The LDC then recommends nominee(s) to the Congress of Delegates for open ACOFP Officer(s) and Governor(s) positions. The LDC also identifies and cultivates active ACOFP members to become leaders for the organization.Charge
1. Meet at Annual Convention and OMED
2. Announce Call for Nominations by late June with a September 1 deadline.
3. Conduct preliminary screening of initial applications by mid-September .
4. Conduct Zoom video interviews for Governor, New Physician-in-Practice Governor, Resident Governor, Student Governor and Vice Speaker Nominees in October.
6. Commit to the cultivation and development of the leadership pipeline of ACOFP throughout the year through blog posts, webinars, mentorship, and participation at in-person events when available.
7. Make recommendations on how to engage with members not recommended for appointment.
Commitment
Members at-large will serve a two-year term and need to dedicate approximately two hours per month to LDC Zoom meetings starting in April through November, as well as 5–10 hours reviewing nominee applications and participating in Zoom interviews of students/residents and 5–10 hours for in-person governor interviews at OMED.Chair
